Billboards for Property Developers

From site hoardings to launch campaigns on the highway, we build and flight the faces that sell developments.

A development is sold long before it is finished, and the first sales tool is usually what stands on the site boundary. Property developers use billboards to announce a launch, direct buyers to a show unit, attract tenants to commercial space and keep a project visible while construction continues. The challenge is that the buyers you want are rarely standing at the site. They drive past on a route to work, or live in another suburb entirely.

We work with developers, sales agencies and project managers to build the hoarding on your site and to place supporting faces along the routes your buyers actually use.

Hoardings and site-boundary advertising

The boundary hoarding is the longest-running face on any development. It has to stand up to wind, dust and building traffic, and it often needs to carry a large artwork across many metres of frontage. We fabricate and erect hoardings with a steel or timber-backed frame, print the skins in PVC or mesh, and install them in panels that can be repaired or changed as the project phases move on.

Mesh is worth considering where wind load is a concern, because it lets air through. Solid PVC gives the sharpest image for render-led artwork. We will recommend one or the other after seeing the site.

Show-house and sales-centre signage deserves its own thought. Directional faces on approach roads, a flag or banner run at the entrance and a clear name board help buyers who arrive by car. We can print and install all three as one package so the look is consistent from the highway to the front door.

Launch campaigns on arterial routes and highways

A launch needs reach beyond the site. Developers commonly pair the site hoarding with one or more faces on a nearby arterial, a freeway approach or a business district, often a unipole or double-sided structure that suits a clear headline and a single call to action. Our billboard rentals cover available sites, with locations, sizes and flighting periods confirmed at enquiry.

Where your own land has frontage to a busy road, building a dedicated structure may suit a long project better than renting. That route needs municipal approval, landowner consent and, near national or provincial roads, roads authority approval. We assist with the applications and supporting documents. Approval rests with the authority.

Sectional-title schemes, retirement villages, student accommodation and commercial parks each pitch differently, but all need a face that is legible from a moving car. Keep it to the development name, one benefit and a way to respond. Renders look best on PVC, while mesh suits large boundary runs in exposed positions.

Building wraps and tall frontages

Once a structure is going up, the building itself becomes media. Mesh building wraps on scaffolding or on a finished façade can carry a release date, an artist's impression or a leasing message. Installation on high faces is done with rope access or mobile crane support, following the applicable health and safety requirements. See our pages on building wraps and rope access.

Wraps on occupied buildings need the owner's consent and usually municipal approval as well. We build that into the timeline discussion rather than leaving it to the end.

Keeping the creative current

Property campaigns change as phases sell out. We print and flight replacement skins, update unit availability messages and handle repairs if a face is damaged. A single flighting team can change a hoarding panel and a roadside face in one trip when they are in the same area, which keeps changeovers practical.

Lead times for structures and approvals depend on the structure, site and approvals, so we recommend raising billboards with us as soon as a launch window is being discussed, not once the show unit is open.

If the building is to carry a wrap during construction, plan for removal at completion. Our dismantling and removal service takes down skins and, where required, the frames behind them.

What to send us

Send the site address or stand number, the road frontage if you have it, your launch window and any artwork or render files. If you want us to prepare artwork, our design service can work from your brand guidelines. Your quotation will set out what is included and what is confirmed per project.

At a glance

Property developer billboards do two jobs at once: they announce a development from the site boundary and they pull buyers in from the routes they already drive. Billboards Africa fabricates and erects hoardings, prints PVC and mesh skins, wraps buildings and flights replacement artwork as phases change. For wider reach we offer rental space on available sites and can build a dedicated structure where your land has road frontage. Our teams work in Sandton, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Midrand, Centurion and other provinces, with rope access and mobile cranes for tall frontages. We can print and flight directional faces, entrance banners and show-house signage together so the branding stays consistent from the highway to the front door.

Outdoor advertising for a property launch needs municipal approval, landowner consent and, near national or provincial roads, roads authority approval. We assist with the applications and supporting documents, and approval rests with the authority. Tell us your launch window, site address and artwork, and we will quote what is included and what depends on approvals.

Common questions

Do you build hoardings around construction sites?

Yes. We fabricate, erect and print boundary hoardings, and install replacement skins as phases change.

Can a wrap go on a building that is still being built?

Often yes, on scaffolding or a completed façade. Owner consent and municipal approval are normally required, and installation follows the applicable health and safety requirements.

Should I rent or build a billboard for my development?

Renting suits short launches. Building suits long projects with road frontage you control. We can quote both.

Who handles the approval for a hoarding?

We assist with applications and supporting documents. The decision rests with the municipality or other relevant authority.

Can you update the artwork when units sell out?

Yes. We print new skins and flight them over the existing faces.

Ready to go bigger?

Tell us where and what you want to advertise, and we will plan the billboard, the approvals and the flighting.
