Billboards for FMCG Brands

Keep your product in sight along commuter routes, near trading areas and across the regions where it sells.

Fast-moving consumer goods depend on repeat recognition. A shopper who has seen a pack several times on the way to work is more likely to reach for it on the shelf. Billboards give FMCG brands the repetition and scale that a single shelf position cannot, and they work well for launches, seasonal pushes and promotions tied to a retailer.

We help brand teams and their agencies plan faces, produce skins and flight changes across a region or the full country.

Frequency through site selection

FMCG campaigns usually favour sites on commuter routes, near taxi ranks and transport hubs, close to retail nodes and in suburban high streets. A 6 m x 3 m face on a suburban road can be rotated to a new site at set intervals so the creative meets different drivers each period, an approach we call urban rotation in our billboard packages. Highway faces give scale for a launch, and the right mix depends on how wide and how frequent your brief needs to be.

We do not quote audience numbers or traffic counts. Available sites, sizes and flighting periods are confirmed at enquiry, and your agency's own planning data will guide the choice.

A typical FMCG plan combines three layers: high-impact faces for launches, rotating suburban faces for frequency, and local faces near stores where the product is stocked. We can build the middle layer on a rotation schedule while your agency manages the others, or we can coordinate all three.

Pack-led creative

The product is the hero in FMCG artwork. High-resolution pack shots, strong colour and a short line print well on PVC and mesh. For faces that must be seen after dark, backlit material or lighting on a frontlit structure keeps the pack visible. Our team checks colour and resolution before print and can advise where a pack image needs to be re-supplied or reworked. See artwork requirements for supplied-file guidance.

Series creative, where several flavours or variants share a layout, can be flighted across neighbouring sites so a driver sees the range in sequence. Keep the layout consistent and change only the variant, so the series reads as one campaign.

Promotions and price-led messages

Because pricing changes are common, make sure your compliance team signs off any price claim before artwork is supplied to us. We print what you provide. Where the offer will change, plan for a flighting schedule, so skins can be swapped on dates that match the promotion. Digital faces avoid the print step and let you update copy remotely, subject to the approving authority's limits on brightness, hours and content.

Regional and cross-border reach

Brands that sell across provinces need a single point of contact for production and installation. We coordinate print runs, ship skins and flight them using our own teams or approved local partners, confirmed at quotation. For Southern and wider Africa, transport, import duties and local permits are confirmed per project, and we will tell you what to expect before you commit.

Maintenance during a flight

A campaign that runs for weeks needs a clean face. We handle inspections, repairs for wind or vandalism damage and replacement skins so your pack looks right throughout the flighting period. Approvals, as in every sector, rest with the municipality, any roads authority involved and the landowner.

If a promotion ends early or a product is withdrawn, tell us as soon as possible. Skins can be removed or replaced, and the quotation sets out how changes to a flighting plan are handled.

At a glance

FMCG billboard advertising builds the repetition that gets a pack chosen on the shelf. Billboards Africa produces and flights faces for consumer brands on commuter routes, suburban high streets, highway corridors and near retail nodes. Our urban rotation approach moves a 6 m x 3 m creative to new sites at set intervals, and highway faces add scale for launches. We print PVC, mesh and backlit skins with colour and resolution checks, flight price or promotion changes on schedule and handle repairs during a campaign. Teams work across Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban and other provinces, with approved local partners where needed. Series creative can be flighted across neighbouring faces, so a driver sees the full range in sequence, and local faces can support stores that stock the product.

Outdoor advertising for FMCG still needs municipal approval, landowner consent and, near national or provincial roads, roads authority approval. We assist with applications and supporting documents. Send us your regions, flight dates and artwork for a quotation that confirms available sites.
